As an FA charter standard club (voted Durham FA charter standard club of the year 2007)it is always our policy to use best practice in accordance with The FA. Links to The FA/grassroots football and best practice can be accessed via this website.
As FA qualified coaches we adhere to the FA learning/four corners which incorporate four key aspects: technical, physical, social and psychological.
As a development team we shall focus on the following key aspects...
1)technical: basic skills, techniques, group practice, attacking principles, defending principles, groups and units.
2)physical: balance coordination,agility.
3)social: fun & enjoyment, inclusion & participation, simple rules & ethics, values & beliefs, appropriate behavior, peer group features.
4)psychological: learning, exploration, decision making, spatial awareness, enthusiasm, self concept, goal setting, responsibility, confidence.
The development squad accommodates three age groups, 4, 5, & 6 years. Therefore, each training session shall follow a guided syllabus allowing for differing rates of physical and mental development of each child.
Initially low target goals will be set for each task allowing each child to achieve these goals and build confidence while focusing on technical ability. Tasks/drills will mainly be group work allowing social skills to develop. The responsibilities referred too are simple tasks such as carrying their own water bottle into the hall and placing it against the wall so they know were it is.
Learning at any age and level is made easier if it is fun. The coaching team aim to create varied fun sessions focused around the FA four corners stated above. our goal is to maximize the full potential of each child as an indivdual.
further updates will follow; please keep checking the notice board. Meanwhile if there are any questions please contact one of the coaching team either: after training, by telephone or via the club website guestbook.
Many Thanks
Steve, Danny, Johnathon, Paul
